What if the shoes don't fit?

As long as the shoes or boots that you have purchased are not a special order, then it is a simple matter to return them to us, provided that they are returned in "ORIGINAL CONDITION" (tried out on a carpet etc etc) and that this is done within seven days of receipt.

Please Note: If goods are returned to us showing signs of wear, we are unable to give you a refund. We strongly recommend that you try any shoes or boots on a carpet, as it takes very little to scuff the soles on a new pair. Your statutory rights are not affected.

You must email us for a returns number and instructions. We will advise you of the returns address (we sometimes return to the manufacturer). We strongly advise you to use a guranteed and insured method. Within the UK, we recommend that you use Royal Mail Special Delivery for parcels weighing up to 2kg.

Please advise us as to whether you wish a full refund (made on the same card that was used at time of ordering) or if you would like us to send out another pair of shoes in a different size. Please note that refunds are also made without us retaining any of your card details - we just have access to the basic transaction details on the banking system. However the system does allow us to issue refunds.

Do you have the shoes in stock?

We do try to keep the most popular shoes in stock at all times. However we do not have the space to stock every shoe that we advertise in all sizes and colours. We are able to service in excess of 80% of orders straight from stock.

On some occasions, however, we will need to order from the manufacturer. It is generally possible for us to ascertain the stock position of Loake shoes online. Other manufacturers do not have this facility and we initially assume that they are in stock. Occasionally this will not the be the case and the manufacturer will advise us of that fact when we place the order. We will then contact you by email within an hour or so and let you know the position.

If it is important for you to know whether an item is definitely in stock before placing the order, please email us or telephone and we will let you know. We will certainly never ever charge your card until we are ready to ship the goods.

How much will delivery cost?

Within the UK all deliveries are free; and there is a £2.35 charge made for delivery of shoes (up to 2kg) before 1pm on Saturdays. The latter may be a convenient option for those customers who find it difficult to take delivery during the week.

For overseas (non-UK) customers, you can easily determine shipping costs by adding the goods you are interested in to the basket and then proceeding to checkout. Shipping is currently £15 plus VAT within Europe and £25.00 per pair of shoes (up to 2kg) for deliveries outside Europe, unless you use UPS, when the costs can be considerably higher.

On the first page of the checkout you are asked to select the invoice location and the shipping destination. On the next page you will see the default shipping charge. If there are alternative shipping options, they will be shown at the bottom of the page. This will all be clearly visible before you complete any personal details; and you will be able to proceed with your purchase or, if you should wish, you will be able to simply abandon the transaction.
